The Core of the Milky Way

"Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" Isaiah 40:12

Taken from the summit of an 1800-meter mountain, this photograph unveils the sparkling core of our galaxy, the Milky Way. Simple equipment was used: a DSLR camera, a kit lens, and a small star tracker.
This image shows all the dust, gas, and clusters of stars surrounding our galaxy’s core. To the naked eye and under dark skies, it appears like a river of diffuse clouds arching through the sky. However, the intense colors and details are revealed with long-exposure photographs. It is a mesmerizing sight and a testament to the greatness and majesty of the One Who created it all.
